Question Safe, affordable lodging off the NJ Turnpike?

Good morning!

I'm driving up to Boston this weekend from Norfolk, VA and looking for someplace to stay the night at about the halfway mark. Pretty much any stop off the NJ Turnpike would be perfect. Any suggestions for where to find safe, affortable lodging? I've driven up and down the turnpike many times, but I've never gotten off!

City names would be great, if you don't know specific hotels/motels.

Thanks so much for your help.

If you could please define "affordable", it may let other users know what you're looking to spend (since everyone's definition differs).

Try looking into the Marriott Fairfield Inn and Courtyard both in Mount Laurel, NJ. They are both right off of Exit 4 of the turnpike on Fellowship road. Marriott's are always clean and safe and you should be able to get a room in the $80-90 range during the weekend. Also plenty of places to eat and shop around there.

Yup.. Plenty of options on Exit 4 of NJ turnpike. You have a good selection of place to stay along Rt 73 and you can be in/out of the area without much traffic.

Pick up a coupon book at the tourist or welcome centers. You can find great deals for name brands such as Country Inn and Suites, Hampton Inns, Wingate inns, and a variety of marriott properties.
There is also a site with the same coupons---http://www.i95exitguide.com/index.php

Thank you all so much! Luckily, this is for Thursday night rather than the actual Labor Day weekend, but I imagine it could still be really tricky. I appreciate the help. Yay NJ!

I ended up reserving a place at Extended Stay something-or-other in Mt. Laurel -- only $40 on Priceline! Whew, one thing crossed off the to-do list. Thanks again.
