No clue - I don't attempt to get into these people's heads. I just see stereotypes perpetuated all the time about Italians who live in NJ - like we must look and act like a member of the mafia (ala "The Sopranos"). I mean if it is on TV it must be true right?

That sounds like the animals here in Philly too...were you in Boston by any chance? At any rate I guess I'm glad I'm not in New England... I even changed my summer place from Maine

News 12 and the Star Ledger are a couple of NJ sources...although since you are only '1.5 miles from NY' you're pretty much there. The people mike was referring to are way out in the mountains of PA and yes they do have local stations there.

That's funny also,I often watch Ch.69 news from Allentown because the news here in Philly makes Allentown look like heaven Anyway the wife always comments on how half the news is school sports there,I guess because city people are so used to their major league sports being right there.
Even when I lived in central NJ people didn't seem to be as crazed for sports as they do when I was closer to the big cities.

The people in Scranton are really proud of the TV show The Office since it's supposed to be about a company in Scranton. The thing is, the show is NOT filmed in Scranton. Scrantonions are also proud of the saying "there's nothing like a Scranton party". They wouldn't know how to act in a real party.

My hubbie was in Scranton on Labor Day weekend for a Beatles (Abbey Road on the River) event. He wore his Office t-shirt. A lot of people liked it but he was surprised to be the only one wearing one.
I know they have an Office convention in Scranton too.

We left NJ in 1989 and lived in Boca Raton, FL 15 years. We used to call Boca..."Little NY."
