Yet I get a sandwich in Atlanta and it seems like they can't multitask worth sh*&.
I also like the cynicism and sarcasm in the humor, which is lost in other parts of the US.
What I dont like is that being "real" also means being unpleasant to some folks. I think people have more issues not with the truth itself, but the execution, which is rough around the edges.

Have to agree with this from our FL experience. First, there is not one decent "diner" in the state. Have to go back to NJ for that! (I REALLY miss the Pompton Queen on Rt. 23!) Service in NJ was quick...all the time. In FL, we got stressed out waiting for the wait person to come back and pick up our money. Sheesh...I would try to hand it over when they brought the check. If you missed that opportunity, you could easily wait another 15 or 20 minutes until they returned.

I had the same experience in Orlando. Maybe I'm to acustomed and used to the NJ way of life but I'm still not able to get the "laid back" part of life.

Who would have thought that "laid back" could cause so much stress?!

I think being "laid back" is worse than being on the go all of the time.
My mother lives in Arizona and said the same thing. She's met more people from NJ and NY living in Az. than she expected to. Maybe we're taking over. Let's call the country the United State of New Jersey

i hate nj so Fn much....most in particular essex county!! crappy schools, dirt grit, very rude people, gang violence, the heat in the summer, the lack of space and privacy, too expensive, you pay thousands in tax dollars for small lots and crappy school and for the $$ to be sent to newark which is a war zone..I COULD GO ON FOREVER!! dont move to essex county nj take my advice if you are not fit to live here (i.e. you are slow, quiet, nice, country) then it will never work out even if you try. Just DONT LIVE HERE!! its a sick place..get out while you still can

I never realized how my environment, while growing up, would affect me in later live until I got home from the store today. It then dawned on me that, even though I live in a generic part of Scranton, I still go to the next town with a large Italian populace and I shop in a store and a deli that cater to the Italian food items. Maybe my parents lied to me about not being Italian. LOL
