For the direction our country is headed in 500 years, I suggest renting the movie "Idiocracy".
Mike, for once, we are in COMPLETE and TOTAL agreement.

I never said if it will help/hurt him in the election-just that I believe it played into a part of his decision when choosing her.

Your republican friends may be in a tither over this but are they going to vote Obama because of it? Were they voting for McCain before this pick? Just curious what this pick is doing for those who were strongly in the Mccain camp before the pic.

I really think that McCain did for the so-called independent-women vote more than for republicans. Will it work?-we will have to wait and see I suppose. I wasn't voting for McCain or Obama before and I haven't been influenced by either of their VP pics.

Are that many people swayed by VP pics? I would be curious to hear from some who have and their reasoning.
Those I've talked too (GOP) were planning on voting for McCain. They say now they will either vote for McCain or sit it out (SIT IT OUT - I'm strongly encouraging them to do that.)

All my Hillary supporter acquaintances are voting for Obama.

McCain is completely insulting women thinking that because his VP has a uterus we'd vote for her. INSULTING.

VP choice is not such a factor but when you are 105 like McCain, face it, IT IS.

Me too! Yikes I can just imagine what will happen. I see alot of dumb people if Mccain gets voted in. The way history goes, it is a Democrats turn. The Demos always have to come in to clean up the big mess the Repubs put our country in!
Vote Obama/08

LOL - I am a Catholic too, very active Catholic. But I consider myself a LIberal Catholic. Politically - it depends on the issues, but when it comes to my Church, I'm definately more Liberal.

We get along fine.

I have a few Republican friends who I have to decide how we're going to still be speaking by years end.....

I think it was Cactus Jack Garner back in 1936 who said the office of the vice presidency is "Not worth a bucket of warm pi$$" because under FDR, he supported a balanced federal budget, and FDR's Soviet-style Supreme Court packing methods. He lacked any autonomy to influence the grand old Socialist. What I am trying to say is the vice presidency is not an office that is highly visible. Cheney might have been the only recent exception. Can anyone remember Walter Mondale, Al Gore (other than that half-baked debate he had with Ross Perot) or for that matter, Bush 41, while they were in office?

Well, accordign to Politico.com Palin herself dissed the VP office just last month, so she's perfect then....

I wouldn't consider that a friendship. Real friends love and respect you no matter what your political stance is.
