Default NJ - ready to help?

You know, I think despite its flaws this is a pretty cool state. And I like most of the people in it! So.... we have a major disaster about to hit our country - let's all make a pledge of something that we'll do to help our fellow citizens about to be effected by Gustav.....

If everyone does one LITTLE thing, it helps a lot.

I am going to call the Food Bank, Second Harvest and see if they need Volenteers because I know some of the evacuees are here at a chuch north of the city. They said they would be providing them food. The food bank her is unique as they cook fresh meat and can it. I took a tour of it a few weeks ago and had lunch at the Cafe there which is a fundraiser for the food bank.

Excellent!
Being furhter away - my daughter and I are going to contribute to the relief fund and see about raising some $ as well.
I think I may go open a vein too... Blood is always in short supply during the summer months - so it could be needed - and if it is not there, it will be here.... keep it going guys!

We usually always do something, even if it's as simple as going through clothes and dropping them off at one of the places taking donations. Same thing with toys. Every little bit helps and things don't have to be new to be appreciated as long as they are in decent shape and not broken.

Just don't send that crew of Hoboken police down there, they ended up being a major embarassment to NJ

It looks like it's not to bad. Some shingles off, a little flooding and a minimal storm surge. Lets keep our fingers crossed and keep the fatality and injury count down to a bare minimum. I love how the media wants the price of gas to hit 5 bucks a gallon with the overkill. It appears as of this post that gas prices are plunging lower.
