Commute exprience to midtown NYC from Nutley, Lyndhurst, Rutherford, Wood-Ridge, and Secaucus
Want to buy a house with really easy commute to midtown NYC. I have read many posts in this forum about towns and commute. Thus, we pretty much will limit our house hunting in Nutley, Lyndhurst, Rutherford, Wood-Ridge, and Secaucus. Yeah, still a long list.
I examined the NJTransit website really thoroughly for possible commute options. I checked almost all the bus routes, train and private carrier like DeCamp and LakeLand. I do find that there are a few spots with pretty quick commute to the City according to the time table on the website. Like, W Passaic Ave & Darling Ave is 21 minutes to PABT via DeCamp. But I still have no idea how long it takes in real life. I would really appreciate if you can share your commute expreience here.
If possible, please specify which bus/train stop you go to, whether you walk or drive to the bus/train stop, where you park the car and how easy to find a parking lot if driving, average wait-time for the bus, whether you will be able to find a seat when you get on the bus, how bad the traffic delay during the rush hour.
Thanks in advance.

Bump! I am gonna quote some information from other post.
"My husband commutes to the city from Nutley and his commute averages is 60-75 minutes. He takes DeCamp from the 4 corners stop to Port Authority then takes the subway up to 84th and Broadway. In the a.m. the buses travel in the "bus lane" until 10, and it really goes quite quickly. It seems Friday nights coming home are always longer, like 1 1/2 hours. But many nights he has gotten home in a little less than an hour! The worst part for him is waiting for the bus in the a.m. Sometimes he can wait for 15 minutes. If he really wants to get in quick, he drives to Clifton Commons, parks in the commuter lot and then catches either DeCamp or NJ Transit, whichever comes first, on Route 3."

Hi, I read your posts. I would like to recommend you a particular home which will be going on the market soon within the next week in Hasbrouck Heights. I’ll provide you with some community info. It’s has a nice small town feel, great for raising a family. Great schools, I went through the school system myself. The elementary received Governor’s Award of Excellence. Low crime, people take pride in their homes. Transportation to NYC is half a block away, high/middle school is one block away, elementary school is walking distance, town hall, library, and downtown are half a block away. The home is on one of the town’s most beautiful and prestigious tree-lined street. The home is completely renovated and in move-in condition. The oversized lot has a great sized private backyard and an attached garage. All renovations are complete. The home has large rooms. 3 beds, 1.5 baths, finished basement, great for raising a family, and there are kids on the block. The taxes are low. The price is in the mid-500s. If you would like to take an exclusive look at it before it goes on the market, please call my agent, Christine Parente, and tell her you want to see Maria’s house on Madison Avenue in Hasbrouck heights before it goes on the market. Christine’s number is 551-265-2155.
