OK - NO announcement of an engagement between me and MPB... BUT we're both in agreement on this so I said I'd post and BEG...
Could we PPPPLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEE have Just ONE tiny little thread about the Presidential Election here - and we'll be nice. We'll set ground rules - we'll get together and hold hands and sing Kumbaya at least once a week (over beer, we can agree on beer...)
We've been over on the 2008 Presidental Election boards and man, there are some SCARY SCARY folks there - on both sides. They are evil, hateful, not too bright, and really I'm hoping they all can't vote. (But sadly, I think they can.)
Totally not moderated either - OMG some of the HORRIBLE things. I got DM THREATS. Just awful stuff.
MPB AND I AGREE ON THIS. I repeat, WE AGREE. I know, Iknow what you are thinking. In light of this you are worried that there may be drought, locust and famine tomorrow as a result of this. Or at least pigs will be flying but, yes, WE HAVE AGREED ON SOMETHING. I'm a little uncomfortable and I'm sure he is too... but damn it, we have found common ground as a result.
The way we view it - perhaps only people from, currently in, or considering moving TO NJ are sensible enough to discuss this topic in a semi-intelligent, non hateful manner.
PLEASE!!!

The northeastern PA forum has an off topic political thread sticky. Maybe you can convince T to do that? I, myself, could care less if we had one or not. I think by now we know who the dems are..who the repubs are and who's voting independent. It would just be an on-going argument thread.... but to each their own I guess : )

Have any of you visited that board? Oh My...........I really have not seen anything like it. Downright frightening. I did forward the threats on - but have not heard anything. I've since deleted from my messages, of course. It's annonymous, so I am not worried - but man, that's not healthy! |

Ohh, come on....the elections forum is full of progressive, forward thinking folks. I believe that amid the 100 of so threads concerning Palin's pregnant daughter, one of them even mentioned that perhaps the baby will be the anti-christ, and will cause a nuclear holocaust by being born on inauguration day on the White House lawn and crawling into the White House and pushing the red button.......lol.
