OMG Yes! It was heaven. Boy, did you just jolt my memory. That vanilla cream soda was special. Have never tasted anything quite like it since. It was always my favorite flavor. And it made the best ice cream soda.

No wonder I was overweight as a kid. With all that great food around, who could resist?

Also, there was a ice cream soda shop fifties style on the corner of Beatty and Broad streets. Racking my brain trying to remember the name. It was the real deal with those counter seats that spun around and then the booths with the little juke boxes.

If it weren't so late, I would probably call my mother and ask her if she remembers the name. She used to take me there after I had dental work if I had been good for the dentist. Come to think of it, that really was counterproductive but what a treat for a kid.

Default FlyingScot, you knew my father.

My husband and I were looking on the internet this Sunday morning for some geneology info on my father, Leo McGann and came across this post. I am his youngest daughter Eileen. I appreciate your comments about my Dad. I remember him working the Stockton murder case. I was born in 1960 on Rosemont Ave. Also remember going to Cadwalder Park, the monkey house, etc. All of us kids went to Blessed Sacrament school. We moved to Lambertville NJ in 1969. Dad died in December 1980 at 49.

How did you know my Dad?

Eileen McGann Rossiter

The Stockton murder was cracked in short order by the then head of the Trenton Police homicide division, my good friend Det.Lt. Leo McGann. As good as they come. They don't make them like that anymore. RIP

Talking Kerns quart bottles

I have a case of quart kerns deposit bottles and was trying to donate them to someone who collects them. I figure they are dated around the early 1950s

Blast from the past thread... But the Maruca family is making pizzas on the Seaside boardwalk with another restaurant in Brick Twp. My favorite pizzas!
