I agree w/ you guys...how people treat animals is a predictor of how they will treat humans. I mean, I know people who are not really animal lovers, but they would never hurt one.
I had an incident a few weeks back where I went postal on some neighborhood kids. Tell me if you think I overreacted. We were outside playing and I saw a bunch of slugs in the grass. I pointed them out to the kids (ages 6-10). Got the "oohs" "ahhs" and "gross!" from the kids. So I went back to the porch and one of the girls, 10, comes and says she wants salt. I said for what she said "It makes the slugs go all crazy!" I said, no... it hurts them and kills them. Don't do anything like that. They are alive and you treat them with respect too. I went and warned all the kids there would be no hurting the slugs. OK. OK. OK. 10 min later I was thinking "I don't trust allt hese kids" so I go out and the 10 yr old who I had instructed not to use salt on them was spraying one of the slugs with OFF. When I walked out two of the kids went all bug eyed like I caught them. Now, my little one was in the fray. But trust me, this kid is the most sensitive human on earth she was not doing, but she was there. So I went POSTAL. I freaked out and the 10 yr old brat tells me "What is the problem!" I said "I know they are slugs, I know they may not be attractive, but what if this was a cute little kitten and you were basically burning her skin off, would that be ok? We treat ALL living things with respect!" Do you know what the psycho kid says to me "I'm allergic to cats." I said "Good I'm getting 10 of them!" The other kids were scared ****less that I was going to get them in trouble. I told all of their parents and most of the parents were pissed off. I had a long talk w/ my daughter- who was asking me how she could help the slug now - about NOT partaking in things that you KNOW are wrong just because the crowd is doing them. She HAS to do what she knows is right. AND I'm really limiting time with this psycho little girl.

He ended up leaving without the girlfriend and no punches thrown. Why do woman stay with guys like that? Oh sorry...Off track again!
