Garfield, Lodi, Caldwell, Hammonton, Deptford, Nutley, East Hanover, Lyndhurst, Clark, Hasbrouck Heights.

Bergen and Essex counties have a lot of Italians in general as well spread out through different towns. I am down in South Jersey now, sometimes I miss living in a more Italian American area, but there are still some Italians all over Jersey.

Thanks Lil Miss Sunshine! I am actually thinking of moving to South Jersey. I don't think I can afford North Jersey. I have been living in South Florida for the past 6 years and I can't wait to get out. Is Deptford nice? Do you know anything about Collingswood? I too miss being in an Italian neighborhood.

Where AREN'T the Italians? I miss Italian people. I know we must be hiding some here in So Cali but I can't seem to find them. I used to live in Bergen County. No "pockets" of "just Italian" people, at least where I lived--we allowed our different cultures to roam free. (Even we Poles...) Good people. Good times. Good freakin' pizza!!! For the love of god SOMEONE HAVE MERCY ON ME AND SEND ME A PIZZA! Papa John's is like a slap in the face!

lol That's exactly what I thought...I don't personally know of any neighborhoods where everyone is Italian, but there are Italians everywhere here.

Hey, I'm Italian!!!! I grew up in the Belleville/Bloomfield/Nutley area (the "pasta triangle", the "pasta bowl")....almost everyone was Italian, the handful that weren't were Irish and EVERYONE was a Catholic LOL!!!! It's not like that anymore. While I know for a fact half of them didn't leave, half did. Nutley and Bloomfield are still predominently Italian. Belleville, pretty much only the parents of my generation (if they're still living there) and "old-timers". The younger and newer generations moving in are of Asian and Hispanic background. However, the "old school" Italians in those towns are funny because if you're not Italian they give you that look and say "You're not Italian, waddya mean?" (as if the person said "Hi, my name is--insert name-- I'm from Mars") But yes, Bergen and Essex counties are full of Italians, some are obnoxious, some are totally cool, like me ( ), and some still cook in their summer kitchens down the basement and put plastic on their couches !!!!!!
