We are considering a home in Bridgewater for ~ 900K. Beautiful house in a beautiful neighborhood (near mountaintop). Is this too much for Bridgewater? Should we forget it and get "less" in a better town such as Basking Ridge, Warren etc? Are the schools in those towns that much better than Bridgewater schools?

Personally, I wouldn't pay $900k to live in Bridgewater, especially in today's market- you could end up losing some major equity unless you're planning to stay put for 5-10 years.

Bridgewater Raritan is not as good as Watchung Regional High School or Ridge High School.

No way would I pay that to live in Bridgewater.

Hillsborough, Warren, Montogmery...you could get a lot more bang for your buck and a lot less headache.
