I just joined. You posted this a while ago and may already have your answer. Public transportatin into NYC is pretty easy. You have both NJ Transit train and several bus lines as options. In fact, there are two NJ transit statiosn in East Orange. Incidentally, commuter parking at these stations is a challenge.

The two NJ Transit train stations in East Orange are called "East Orange" and "Brick Church".

Getting to NYC is easy, get on the Midtown Direct. This line also stops in Newark, but NOT at Newark Penn Station. You have to transfer at Newark Broad St and take a light rail train to get to Newark Penn Station.

Getting to Jersey City is a bit of a challenge from East Orange, as far as the train goes. You'd have to follow the directions above to get to Newark Penn and take the PATH from there. Or take a Hoboken bound train from East Orange and take the PATH from Hoboken.

Don't know anything about the bus situation there.

Hello! I just joined and am curious about using the Brick Church station as well. Why is parking a challenge? Can you please give me specifics? I called the town hall about a year ago, and was told that the city did not deal with parking at this station, so I wonder what you need to do.

Thanks for your help.
