Does Amtrak stop in Matawan? You might have to go up to Metropark in Iselin for that...

As said above, you'll have to take a Corridor Coast train to Rahway, then take a NE Corridor train to Metropark, and then take Amtrak to DC. The NJ Transit trains will probably be around $15 or so round trip, and the train from Metropark to DC depends on when you buy the ticket, and whether it's the Acela or not. The standard trains are between $70 and $120 each way, and the Acela runs about $165-190 each way. So, you're looking at anywhere from around $150 round trip to around $400.

Default train

You can just take the Coast Corridor train to Newark and transfer to Amtrak there. Then you don't have to change trains in Rahway.
