I think someone is fibbing I'll admit that I've been to Seaside a number of times, but I'm by no means a big fan. When we were teenagers it was just "the place you went." For us "Westerners," half the fun was that long ride through the Pine Barrens in the pitch dark scaring girls with stories of ax murderers and the Jersey Devil, and turning off onto unpaved sand roads to take shortcuts (or "longcuts")... Seriously Bob, are you going to tell us that when you were 17 and gas was dirt cheap you didn't head down to Seaside at least ONCE on a Friday night? I mean, tastes do change, as I'm more Congress Hall than Flamingo Motel these days, but we were all young and dumb once.

After you do finally try it, get on over to the Pequest Trout Hatchery just down the road.
Be sure to stop in between the two for a beer at Island Park.

Yeah, Bob, never had a sausage and pepper sandwich from the midway??

I'm with Badfish, though, been there a zillion times just because it was the place to be. Never really liked it, just went because that's what we thought we were supposed to do.
Funny how things like that happen.

I, myself, have never been to the Statue of Liberty. Went to a wedding recently on a boat out of Weehawkin and saw it close up from the water at night and have to say, it was breathtaking. I really need to get there with the kids.

I've never seen or been to the French ladies house either! Or Ellis island! Would love to go to Ellis but the Statue... could take it or leave it.

Go there EB2. It's really worth it. I had an incredibly great time on that tour, but that's just my kind of thing.

I've been off the internet for the most part the better part of the last two weeks, and have been catching up with some of these threads. This is a great thread. (props to Tahiti) I can say I'm truly blessed: each place brought up in this thread I can say I've been to, and for the most part, have enjoyed all of them.

If I can spare a little extra cash once I move (I doubt right away, but eventually), I plan on going.
