Better check your source. PNC certainly does primary (mtg's) and people can also default on home equity loans.

Savings and checking you can do that, but at Wamu, I have IRA CD'S and I think it's best to leave them as I am way under the limits. If I withdraw , there are penalties.

Thank you for the suggestion about Bankrate.com. However, I cannot find a listing for Citizen's Bank of Pennsylvania, or for their parent company in Rhode Island. Any suggestions about how to find out the stability of this bank?

Just make sure you have only $100,000 single or $200,000 for a Joint Account. If you have more than that, move excess to another bank.

I found Citizen's Bank for you, it has a 3 star rating on Bankrate.com. Is it on Market St in Phili?
