Well you convinced me - I found this!

THE MANOR HOUSE AT THE FORMER FRICK ESTATE IS NOW AVAILABLE ON APPROXIMATELY 18.265 ACRES OF THE MOST DESIRABLE PROPERTY IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY. CARRIAGE HOUSE WITH GREAT ROOM AND HUGE FIREPLACE, 3 CAR GARAGE, AND STAFF QUATERS ARE CONTAINED IN A SEPARATE BARN-STYLE BUILDING ON THE GROUNDS. MOST SPECTACULAR POND WITH SWANS, AND SWAN PAVILION ARE PART OF THE MAIN ESTATE. THE SOUTH PROPERTY BOARDERS THE ALPINE COUNTRY CLUB GOLF COURSE.

It's only $59,000,000 and the "yard" is a little on the small side, but I'm sure I can probably adjust! I just hope it isn't going to be too much of a "fixer-upper" for the price!

Alpine. Beautiful area, close to Nyack and Piermont, NY for cycling and hanging in coffee shops, close to NYC.

Oh after I posted I just saw the prior post about that property available in Alpine for such a great deal.. LOL..

I'll take less house and more land (and more barn!) Seriously, I could be happy with the little two bedroom, one bathroom (ok, a second bathroom would be nice) ranch we have now if it were on a 100 or so acres with some forested land for hunting/firewood harvesting, cleared land for row crops, maybe a small orchard, grazing land for sheep and goats, a decent size pond, and barn big enough to hold all of my toys.

Sorry Badfish - Half-Pint from "Little House on the Prarie" took your "dreamhouse" off the market!

I've decided to take pass on this house. When I sent that e-mail to Merrill-Lynch, not one employee took me up on the offer to be an official SwanPoop picker-upper! Those swans tend to attract a bad crowd too. How long will I be living there, before the swans invite their "pals" the "Canadian Geese" to visit? There goes the neighborhood -or my backyard! Those "flying german shepards" will "ruin" my place in no time!!! I don't do stilts either! Oh Well - time to go mansion-shopping again!
