Only if you like incorrect definitions....
"On their way down" implies a fall that is continuing to a lower level, whereas I was stating that the rankings are somwwhat lower, but that the current level was still good.

What a bunch of nonsense. I never said they weren't good, however they are DOWN from where they used to be. They are certianly not top notch anymore and that's a shame.

+1
The only thing that "on the way down" means is just that, they are less than what they used to be.

Whatever. But do you really think that "they are on the way down" means the same as "they are down"??? It sure seems that "on the way" implies a state of continued movement downward. (For instance, while driving home, you are "on the way home", not "home")
This has gotten way off topic and probably needs a new English/grammar forum category.... but, my point was that (in my opinion) the scores were down, but I didn't view it as an endless continuing trend downward.

Well, as far as it being a state of continued movement, what's to say it isn't? The downward movement stops when it stays the same or gets better, but until then...

Good schools with attentive parents are key... but good or great schools will not turn a C student into an A student... that is up to the child and his/her parents.
That said, we moved to Randolph recently and are impressed with the schools. They are making a push for technology and offer a nicely rounded education.
I can name LOTS of towns that border others without great reputations. I would suggest researching crime rates if that is a concern.

Can anyone comment on the section of Randolph north of Route 10? Someone mentioned not to buy on the Dover border. Would that whole area be considered the Dover border area? That area attends Fernbrook elementary school which is rated lowest of the 4 township elementary schools.
How about the area near the entrance to Hedden Park? Not necessarily near the Dover border but would this area be considered "undesirable"?

Yes that would be the area that is bordered by Dover. It is better to stay on the south side of route 10. I can't answer about the Hedden Park area. I moved out of the area 25 years ago. I graduated in 1982 from Randolph High.
