HaHa, the squeaky wheel gets the oil.
Religion will be the end of us all.

I'm not trying to offend, but this is the way it is.
Most of the Jewish community was on the north side of the lake, soon they migrated to other parts of Lakewood as kids grew older and bought houses of their own in other towns. The parents also relocated.
I do believe the Jewish people created a fals real estate market by offering double what a house was worth so they could buy it.
The non Jewish saw this as a way to cash in and make a ton of money. That hurt the rest of us who grew up here and enjoyed it. EVeryone saw dollar signs and took it and now the population of Lakewood has exploded.
Whoever is in charge has the Jewish people buying up land wherever they can tearing down the woods and building the ugliest buildings and houses.
It's ruined the town.
My taxes have doubled and I don't get any more service from the township, if anything I get less.
If I put garbage out on the street to early, I get a violation notice. The Jewish people put their garbage out and in some cases it stays on the streets for weeks( I know of one house that put a bay window on the curb over a month ago and it still sits there, the garbage truck has even hit it once or twice).
When I do get a violation notice(such as parking a car off the driveway), I comply, but yet all my neighbors don't seem to get violation notices or they ignore them. When I called the code office, they swear that those who don't comply, get fined progressively from $100 for the first time up to $1000. I can't see any Jew paying a fine for anything when they don't want to spend money in the first place(unless it's for something essential).
My biggest problem is with the entire Jewish community not obeying any traffic laws. None of them. Always speeding through residential neighborhoods, backing out of driveways without looking first and causing accidents. Running red lights, running through stop signs, pulling into traffic without looking, tailgating etc.
If they would just obey the law, over 50% of my problem with them would be gone.
The other half consists of the rudeness and the destruction of our landscape.
At this rate, the Township of Lakewood will have to be changed to Lake since there will be no more woods.
I will leave Lakewood since the Lakewood I once knew and loved no longer exists and never will again and it's a shame.
I can't even move to Howell or Jackson since they are taking over there as well and I've heard they are starting businesses in Brick as well( I hate Brick anyway so I would never consider living there.
Toms River is too crowded, that doesn't leave much in Ocean County to move to, and I need to stay in Ocean County due to my job being in Lakewood.
If I could get the Rabbi's to instruct all to obey the traffic laws, I would be in heaven, but I know that won't happen so I will continue to exist in the Hell of Lakewood until I can find a more suitable place.
I'll have to agree with this.

This reminds me of a time when I was starting to do a lot of flying for business, I was one time in the airport, and saw this woman sitting near one of the gates, weeping. I approached her and asked her if she was OK, if she needed help. She replied, "No, no...it's just a very emotional day for me... I recently discovered my Jewish roots, and I am embracing my Jewishness. Today is a HUGE step, because for the very FIRST time, I am traveling to OUR land, to be with MY people!!!"
I was relieved that nothing was wrong, and told her so; "Well, I'm glad to hear you're weeping in joy and nothing's wrong. I hope you have a good, safe flight to Israel." To that she looked at me confused, and said, "Vhat Israel??? I'm flying to Miami Beach!!!" lol

As far as Jewish being an ethnicity or religion, that has confused me for years.
I know people who are Russian,Polish and German who are also Jews. Yet I being Irish and German was raised Catholic, but the second time I got married was Methodist since the Catholic Church frowns on divorce and I was married Catholic the first time around.
All religions are screwed up, the Jewish with their ancient customs on the sabbath to the Catholic hypocites who will allow murderer's, rapist's,child molestor's into their church, but not a divorced person.
My wife was born Catholic and her mother chose not to raise her with any religion. She went down to St Mary's a few years ago to see about receiving communion, her Confirmation(and of course Penance) just to get some religion back in her life. They put her through hell and made her wait over a year before they even decided to answer her. In the meantime, she found the Methodist church we got married in and started going there instead, but now they are out of money and too busy helping illegal aliens get identification papers that we no longer go there.
So as screwed up as most believe the Jews to be, the other religions are really no better.
I still wish they would obey the traffic laws(as well as everyone else).

The way your wife was treated was absolutely not right, if she was indeed ignored for a year, which is honestly hard to believe, but could be true.
However, she should have been guided to go through an adult program to help her get her sacraments and bring her into full communion with the church again. It would probably be a year-long preparation process in an RCIA program. Yes, there are rules in Catholic Church though, and you can't just walk in and start demanding sacraments without doing the requisite preparation. Of course, she could always attend Mass without receiving communion and see if it is calling her back.
She should try another parish if she is truly interested and feels that her heart is calling her back. I recently came back to the church and I was welcomed with open arms. If she is really interested, she could pursue an annulment at some point, and even be married again in the Catholic Church.

The problem is that the people who behave like the people who threw things at you feel completely justified in doing what they did and aren't interested in changing their ways.
I posted in a forum here for another state about how racist and discriminating I found the area to be using a true incident, and basically got called a troll. The general attitude was that I/we somehow deserved what we got. It's pretty shocking that there are such backwards people in this day and age, but there are, and the sad but hilarious part is that they are blind to their own attitude. They don't view themselves as racist or having any sort of religious discriminations, but it's pretty clear they do.

maybe that one incident didnt justify declaring an entire area as racist.

I gave one incident as an example, clearly indicating it was not the only incident. There were an alarming number of incidents.

Hey, could be. I'll have to ask her if she remembers where the location was so we can go back and check it out.

Any clown can get a costume, including the coat, shoes, hat, fake beard, hairpiece, etc. For all I know maybe some immature person was dared by his friends to do it.

Lakewood, NJ is an Urban Enterprise Zone, meaning they pay 3 1/2% sales tax. I'm sure they along with anyone else who owns property pays property tax. At the same time though for the most part if they donate a significant amount of their income to their respective synagogues they are able to get a tax writeoff which may offset some of the property taxes they pay.
As for collecting welfare I would suspect the community on "the other side of the tracks" in Lakewood are more likely to collect welfare.
