near mcdonalds? not a bad area, i wouldn't not move there b/c of safety concerns. bayonne as a whole is a relatively safe place.

mcdonalds is on 25th and broadway - shoprite is 25th/26th on ave c.

25th and avenue C is starting to get into one of the not so nice areas - 18th-24th streets is less desirable. 26th and up things start getting a lot better.

if the choice is between 25th and C or 37th and E, I'd pick 37th and E. More residential homeowners. I had a dear friend who lived on 35th and E and a friend now on 44th close to E - it's totally fine, IMHO. good luck!

Safety is my main concern.I have seen some decent one bed room for 1400 near nutley but commute is tough.Commuting from bayonne seems to be okay with light rail. But I don't want to compromise safety. What do u think nutley or bayonne?.

nutley and bayonne are apples and oranges - bayonne is a lot more urban. it's hard to compare them fairly - it's all in what you want.

as far as safety - i'm a very non-threatening looking female and would have no problem living in bayonne (i lived there 25 yrs). i've never feared for my safety, and i've walked every inch of that city. crime has gone up in the years i've been gone, but not to the point i would advise against living there. the parts of town I don't recommend are 18th-24th on avenue C and kennedy blvd, and broadway 48th street to the JC line - that's about it and it's mostly because it's not as nice as the other areas.

Default Special Needs Programs in Bayonne

Does anyone know if there are any good programs or preschools in or around Bayonne for kids with special needs? We will be moving there in about 5 weeks from Cincinnati,OH and we have a 2 year old with epilepsy. He will be 3 in March and should be starting some sort of preschool or program. Also, how about the hospitals in the area for children?? Any help will be greatly appreciated! I love this forum and have found some very good info here. Thanks to all!!

Bayonne is a good bang for your buck.. cheap and safe.Try finding that in the rest of jersey, North Jersey specifically.

The public schools are decent too. I think the high school has over 3,000 kids!
