Well, I graduated in the early 80s, but the music that really takes me back to that time are things like the King Crimson albums Red, Starlessand Bible Black and Lark's Tongues in Aspic, or Robert Fripp & Brian Eno's No Pussyfooting . . . because I listened to those and others all the time when I drove to school (which I did for the last couple years I was there).
I went to two proms, actually, but I can't remember much about the music at them.
I graduated in 1969, so I'm pretty old.
Anything from the Beatles, Rolling Stones,Dylan "The times are a Changing", Jimi Hendrex,Jefferson Airship. Temptations, Pertula Clark "Downtown" Peter Paul and Mary, "Blowing in the Wind"
Lots of War Protest song, as the Vietnan War was in full Swing.
That was the big reason I went to college in TN, wanted to be safe.
