Default Aspen Woods, Aberdeen/Matawan NJ

So tax issues aside - my husband and I are currently looking for back up plans in case our new construction falls through (I really think it's going to under appraise for the agreed on sale price, and I also really don't think the builder is going to budge).

So, we came across this development in our search - Aspen Woods in Matawan/Aberdeen, NJ, and were wondering if anyone knew anything about it. Attractive price point, and the units look large.. and heck - a private elevator? How cool is that?

Any advice is always welcome

Hi Monack. What kind of questions did you have about the units? The price for them is great, they are huge townhomes (approx 2800 sq ft), nice layout, and most are upgraded and still in good condition (they are approx 5 years old). You are also close to Rt 34 and can take the Matawan train into the city if you need to commute to NYC.
About your new construction though-the builder would be dumb not to budge. If you worked with a realtor, have them negotiate the price for you if it doesn't appraise. And if you don't have a realtor, tell the builder they are saving commission because you didn't use a realtor. Either way, if the house doesn't appraise, you either need to renegotiate the price, or you have to come up with more money down. Best of luck!

Hi Monack- I came across this message board and I wanted to know if you are still interested in Aspen Woods. I currently own one of the larger units in this development and my husband and I are looking to sell it by owner. It is 2500 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths with a jacuzzi, 2 half baths, a full finished basement, brand new carpets and since my husband is in construction we'd be willing to create a third bedroom if needed/wanted. Please contact me to discuss price if interested.EKennedym@gmail.comHope to hear from you!
