I am looking to see what people think of these 2 buildings( preferably people who actually live, or have lived, there.) How's the Co-op board, the condition of the building, major problems, praises, gripes, etc. I'm really not interested in opinions about the neighborhood, schools, etc. Thanks in advance-Tom

I know people that live in both and both are fine. I think Troy Towers is more dated and from what I heard, the board can be somewhat of a hassle when doing renovations.

The Doric is in Jersey City I believe? If not, it's RIGHT on the cusp.

This is going back, but the Doric never had a great crowd living there and was not all that nice. It may have changed.

The Doric is still a tad sketchy.

Growing up not to far from it, we used to call it the Dork. Largely because the old sign had weird lettering and DOR IC the IC looked like a K! LOL!

My old BF used to deliver pizza there back in HS. This one chick always answered the door naked there.

Not that he was complaining.... lol

My husband and I have lived in the Doric for the past 3 & 1/2 years. It's a great building- the views are amazing, the amenities are great (especially in the summer), and it's convenient to Hoboken & the City. We have not had any problems with the building or the board. The building has had numeous improvements completed with in the last few years. If you have any questions let me know. Our apartment is actually on the market. We are looking to move because of our 19 month old- she has taken over.

I'm sorry I'm reviving an old thread guys, but I needed some information on Troy Towers in particular and there wasn't much on here to help me come to a decision.

I'm looking to rent a 1 bedroom, and the neighbourhood looks good. But I need to know someone who's lived in this building or somewhere very close to tell me how it is at night - safetywise. My wife comes home late from work somedays around 8pm-ish.

Thanks!!

Hi
I just saw your post. I happened upon the Doric online. I am trying to help my two daughters buy their first place. Is your unit still for sale?

I am trying to help my daughters in their venture to buy an apt close to nyc. They are recent graduates. I happened upon the doric online and was drawn to it because of price. Can anyone help me with some questions. Is it safe for two young ladies that will be coming and leaving early morning and later evening?
why are they so reasonable?
can you get mortgage financing?
is there anything I should know?

thanks!!!!
