Oh...I forgot...Washington Twp. in Gloucester County. About 30 minutes from Philly. This is a nice place with great schools and lots of kids! Unfortunately, I heard that the taxes are high. It's very close to Pitman.

With all the combined adjectives you used to describe your needs in New Jersey you might try Fantasyland ?

It depends on your price range, but Somerset County has a lot of great little towns that are safe and it is centrally located. You can be in Philly or NY within an hour.
Try Bridgewater, Somerville, Manville, Hillsborough, Branchburg, South Bound Brook. Those are just a few, and there's a good range in the above list for prices.

Best of luck to you.

If location doesn't matter and there isn't a family connection, then why NJ ? Does your soon to be husband have clients in NJ, if so where, and are there enough clients in that area that would warrant a move?

If he has clients in Philly, you should try the areas south and west of downtown Philly. Lower taxes - property, sales, income, etc......

I am working from home as a child care provider, however when we move till I get situated I will probably get a office job or something for a little while till I get established w/my business in the area.
