Default A few gas stations at $2.98 a gallon.

Prices have really come down. Been a while since I've seen 'em under $3.00. None by me though.

Seriously... I can still hear my grandfather saying "Can you BELIEVE it is over $1.00 a GALLON!" LMAO. If only Grandpa, if only.

I got my license in 1993. Gas then? 89 cents. My grandmother could remember 30 cents.

I was a young driver during the oil embargo of '73 or '74 and I was bumming when gas sky rocketed to 50 cents / gallon.

I had just bought my first new car and the payments were $88.10 / month.

Well this seems to be the usual occurance for gas. They rape us all summer then they drop it in October. This is like clock work. I wish I could store a tanker by my house when it goes down and open it up to the public in the summer during hurricane season.

Those stations on Tonnele have always had gas cheaper than surrounding areas. I remember driving home once on that road in '86 and gas was 69 cents. I saw $3.13 yesterday in Sayreville.

What truly is a shame is the spread of prices. You have 3 stations at 2.98 in North Bergen and you have two in Summit- 1 at 4.89 and 1 at 4.49. A two dollar spread you think someone is gouging the public? If you have a large van or SUV that holds 30-40 gallons of gas the difference is between 60 and 80 bucks. WOW

I think the Shell station on Tonnelle is only 2.98 if you pay cash, Creditcard might be higher, but still a good deal
