Ok, this is a very strange thread, I'm sure, BUT....I found some Ginny dolls, they were originally made by Vogue Dolls starting in the 50's, and those are the most collectible, but mine are from 1978, NIB, boxes are kind of shot but the dolls are brand new. I was wondering if anyone know what they are worth? I already went on e-bay and it wasn't much help since all of the dolls were older. I also did a google search but was having a hard time, and I don't want to buy a $30/$40 book to find out that they aren't worth anything....any suggestions/comments?

You know go to E-bay and do a search on them and see what they are selling for.

I remember those dolls! So cool!

Your dolls weren't made by the Vogue Doll Co..this may or may not reduce their worth:

TRANSITION YEARS
Between 1972 and 1995 Ginny had a succession of owners.
1972-1977 Tonka Corporation
1977-1982 Lesney Products Corporation
1984-1986 Meritus Industries
1986-1995 R.Dakin and Company

Lesney did make them during the year that mine were made, but they were still under the Vogue name, the box has Vogue Dolls printed on it. I know they aren't as valuable as the 1950's dolls, but they are so cute...it brings back so many memories when I look at them..I remember playing with them as a kid and I'm almost tempted to take them out of the box now and play with them!!!

Have you maybe tried a doll store if you have one in your area.
I agree about paying $30 for a book that may or may not have the info you are looking for

anywhere from 15- 50 dollars they are worth. Depending on which doll. Also keep box even if shot may add more value.

There is one on ebay from the 1950's
Bid is only $45.00 so I'm thinking except for sentimental reasons they are not worth much $$

Not sure if I can post an ebay link here

I had an old Kewpie (sp?) doll my grandma gave me. I couldn't part with it though!

the reason why I said up to 50 bucks, that depends on if you have a rare/special addition or if some collector needs that doll to complete a collection.
