Sure as anything hope so.... right now I'm up VERY nicely..... but I've reached my personal goal for the day, so I'm done with trading til next week.

For some odd reason, I don't think we're going to be in the kind of situation that requires Snake Plisskin or some such

Edit

Rumors exist about a sequel to the sequel, btw

I know that the over indulgence that has become a way of life is PART of this problem... but very, very, VERY far from all of it.

I, for one, am going to stock up on Kettle One before I won't be able to afford it and will have to go back to Georgi from Clifton NJ!

I have no choice here. I bought in '03 and my small house wouldn't sell for much more than I paid for it...if more at all...IF it would sell, and even then, I couldn't afford another locally. I'm hoping we'll be able to keep our house (I was smart enough to get a traditionaly fixed rate mortgage, and it was a great rate) and ride it out. I'm already figuring how the family room can be converted incase Mom or Sis have to move in.

Is it bad out there? Yes. Are we on the verge of another Depression, no. However, people are going to have to get used to something and its called economic contraction. Economists predict 3 quarters of recessive growth and the definition of a recession is 2 quarters with recessive growth. So say goodbye to the go-go 00s- let the market contract (which has to happen) and things will pick up. The DOW was at this level in 2003, which means in 5 years it has seen growth of 40%. That just isn't sustainable.

If you want to cry for someone, cry for Iceland- the American economy is much more resiliant due to its size, but with a small economy like Iceland, you can see how this is seriosly altering their whole world.
Didn't they say Iceland had 0 depression like a year ago? Bet thats bound to change.

I KNOW I'm going to get flamed for this but that's never stopped me before....

Ladies & Gents, I think the US's days as THE Superpower of the Worlds are OVA.... I think the US needs to realize that it's not going to get out of this mess unless it's with the cooperation of a LOT of other nations. We can't just waive our magic wand and say "We're the US" we will make it better. No happening, especially with the VOID of LEADERSHIP we've had for quite some time now. I think that IF we will be all better, we better start playing nice in the sandbox. Start adhering to some new rules that do not say "We're the Cowboys with nukes and screw the rest of ya."

But that's just me....
