to stop bashing Plattsburgh, so I will openly tell everyone in the NJ forum how great it is. Now I have a log cabin in that area, its so great no one wants it!!! I cant even give it away! Look its like any other place, some say its great , some say it lousy. However, I just want everyone to know that if we cant express our opinions about anything without someone getting upset whats the point of this board. Look I wont tell people Plattsburgh NY is lousy, believe me I would like to sell that cabin for a profit, but truth is truth, I made a mistake!!! I find Paterson more appealing right now than Plattsburgh! At least in Paterson I could get a job and a good Syrian meal. Now I hope that person can tell me openly how great Plattsburgh is. I would like to have an open discussion. Its got Lake Champlain, and close to Montreal there is two good things!
I did manage to scrap up a good job however in Plattsburgh, guess what it was....Social Work yes they do need that because there are so many problems in Plattsburgh. I was with some of the nicest families in there trailers , and you know what I met some of the nicest people who were happy to live with no running water and dirt floor. Yes they were content, no better yourself at all attitude. The prison guards had the best jobs. But the people were very nice, especially when they had Keystone light! Now that the cigarette tax went up they are not too happy!!! Its great people, happy compliant and living like they want. No problem but what happened to bettering yourself. Getting off goverment assistance. My father was born and raised in Utica, NY just like Plattsburgh the difference is he got an good education to get out of UTICA, NY. No need for a chemist in Utica. I mean beside SUNY, the hospital and prisons and walmart ohh add social work whats there????
Now your wondering why this is on the NJ thread , because obviously some is reading the NJ threads and see my Plattsburgh comments. Mind you on the NY threads if it was so great it would be more discussed and I could sell the damn cabin. SO my little friend, tell all us in NJ how great it really is? Im all ears!

It like someone who told me Little Stink Harbor, instead of little egg harbor, now I did not make that up, however I thought it was funny. You see I have a mind, and a brain and I can form my own opinions , well maybe some one who retired in that place loves it. Now if we all got upset about something someone posted Toledo would look like Utopia!!!

Please Mods dont edit this post, because, you know, no place is perfect. Look I dont live in the greatest town in NJ. To be honest yes I have a nice house, however its lost so much value since I bought it, I probably would be called an idiot for buying in January! I probably could have bought a better house bigger, not where I am driving all over just to get a bottle of soda. However I made my choice, I stuck with it, but its certain not the worst case senerio. I am not stupid, however if I cant have an opinion, Im dead!

Ohh and to the person who PM'ed me, he said I did not reside there, I still have a house there kid, and I did reside there. Do you think I would bash a place I never been. I thought it was so great I moved there, so that residing there right? Lets just tell the truth, if its so geat lets look at how many idiots beside me , move to Plattsburgh, NY! Now truth be said is it the worst, no , I have actually been to worse, Holoyoke mass comes to mind, however its it enough that I would move back to MY RESIDENCE IN PLATTSBURGH NY, no way! Now lets here your opinion, but dont tell me not to have one. Thanks see ya in the BURGH! One last point, I honestly did not realize that I could influence so many smart NJ people about my opinion. Trust me , they take me with a grain of Lake Champlain's salt. Im really not that important. People from NJ can form their own opinions, so dont worry. Im sure many people in NJ love your hometown!!!

Never been to Plattsburgh but it is very far upstate. Those are more difficult locations for resale. It is quite a trip even from north jersey. I own some land closer to Lake George which is 90 miles south and on the southern end of the Adirondacks.

I did that, my god, why would I be so honest I am stuck with alittle vacation home right outside Plattsburgh, NY. I wish the ecomony would pick up, however I have noticed that its does not even run on the economy. Its its own little oasis. The Canadians have more money than the Plattsburgh people! There was never a good economy, look at that great airport that was suppost to save that area. They all tell me after the Military base left it was over, I did not destroy the economy. I honestly think it all runs backwards there. You know I never knew that the counties of warren, franklin, and clinton maybe essex were some of the poorest areas in the whole country. Look its beautiful, the mountain, the lakes its great for vacation, but lets face the facts. I cant solve the problems up there the people need to get off and create opportunities put down the damn keystone light! I just find it funny how someone can read alittle comment and be so upset to tell me not to express an opinion. Looks its not that bad, but noone gets ahead in Plattsbugh. I still have so many friends and neighbors and if your born there and work for a ski shop its great. I have a good friend who lives there and works for the viking ski place. He is happy. He know nothing else but that. So its heaven to him . He is used to it. We become used to it.

I am right outside Adk park, my cabin is on the Salmon river and its beautiful!! I think for vacation its nice. I love the ADK's , I am going next weekend up there, especailly in the fall. I have hiked some of the most beautiful moutains and seen loons and wonderful things. I am really not putting it down. I am in the NJ forum so I dont want to discuss really ny state, its just people know me here, however If I need to discuss/bash/ praise or compare Plattsburgh I will now use my NJ hometown now!!!!!!! Will that make you happy??????????????????????????????????????? I will say its better than outer mongolia!! Anyone live there that I hurting there feelings. I mean have we gotton so damn sensitive that I can tell you Newark, camden paterson are all great, utopia!! I mean come on, this is a joke to me. Now let me go get some keystone light and cigarettes, outter mongolias great purchase!!!

I agree it is very nice up there. Would even consider retiring up there someday, much less expensive than NJ. With the global warming the winters are more tolerable the locals say but you give up a lot of amenities, it's a different lifesyle. I'd be within shouting distance of Saratoga and Glens Falls, NY.

I remember going to court in HoHoKus because a bicyclist wrote me a ticket. Its a funny story he was riding in the middle of the road and I yelled hey jerk get to the right. Well he wrote my plate down and took me to court for wreckless driving. The judge asked him whats up and he said she hurt my feeling. Well the judge ripped into this guy and said dont take it to court just yell back f you witch. So lets stop being so sensitive.

I love Lake Luzerne!! I know your whole area and its easier to live there than should I dare say well you know outter mongolia!! YOu see that area is kinda growing. You got Queensbury, and below and many people find jobs due to being near Albany and GLenns falls, howver Platts opps outter mongolia dont want to upset the person your 150 miles into ADK park. YOur up there and there no way out but 150 miles of WOODS!!!! ANd believe me its not as easy as people think to get to Burlington VT, you got a long ride and a huge lake with a ferry thats not cheap!! SO that myth that ohhh its so close to Burlington, yeah right! 45 minute on a good day to hit just VT much less 20-25 from the drop off point from the ferry so your not close to anything! Basically your a captive slave to PRice Chopper and walmart, there no choices and the ones that you may have are far!!! Sad thing is its really worse that camden and paterson and newark because at least you can get out quick, there no quick way out of Platts oppps again outter mongolia. I mean your really stuck, go any direction and nothing is close but trees. If you like the woods thats the place. But any choices there none. I mean at least in Camden you can go to philly and have tons of choice, in Platts opps outter mongolia you got woods north, south , a huge lake east, and woods west. Albany is 150 miles away. Think about it, and heres the killer of all taxes are not that cheap, so its not even a good place to save money. It will run out there!!

I wished it was great, I wanted nothing more than to love it, but truth is for me we cracked up in Platts, outter mongolia. I wish this person would tell me all the great things, maybe he could convince me to move back into the cabin!! I did live there and spend many weekends there. come kid, tell me all the great things. I am open and looking to find something good.
