Obviously I'll have to be honest too then... you don't seem like a college graduate... no offense but you don't read what I write. Hopefully your not one of those riff raffs I find in other bayshore towns. I said I feel there is a quality of life in Keansburg that other bayshore towns don't have which is what I liked. The part of North Middletown she lived in was bad... the street was very narrow, the houses were tiny and on top of eachother. The street I live on is very wide, spacious, houses are spread out, I have a double wide driveway and without the cluttered feeling. Sorry but there are parts of North Middletown that look like a dump and I would not live there! If anyone was to respect you on this site or your opinion, you should at least be honest about North Middletown and/or other bayshore towns. There are also some very beautiful parts of North Middletown. I know there are parts of Keansburg I would definitely not live in as well! And again, when I shopped for houses for the "SAME PRICE" in other bayshore towns, I got a lot more value in my house and more quality of life that I was looking for. I got a bigger lot, more square feet, wide street, lower taxes than other bayshore towns. I am not putting the bayshore towns down... I love this whole area from Keyport to Sandy Hook! When you put Keansburg down compared to other bayshore towns, my friends, my neighbors and the new high class people moving to this town would laugh in your face! Every Bayshore town has there own quality and every bayshore town has riff raff, but still a great place to live! I was just talking to a girl today who is from PA who just recently moved to Red Bank. She told me there are nice parts of Red Bank and bad parts. She don't know anything about Keansburg and hopefully she don't hear things from you <laughing> My God, she would think it is Camden or Asbury Park after talking to you. She is an engineer and I invited her to my house Monday to show her around. She is thinking of moving here. Her first question, Is it a yuppy town? I laughed. I said it is an old beach town that is changing with a lot of new developments. I told her there is a beach and amusement park, festivals in town, fireworks every monday, etc, etc... She was like wow sounds very nice. The sad part is people like you put the bayshore down. Her 2nd question, Is it a safe town? I said definitely a safe town otherwise, myself and other families I know that recently moved here, would not have moved here. I said I can walk the streets and feel safe. I said its not like Asbury Park or Long Branch as she has recently found them out. Whatever bayshore town she chooses, she can't go wrong, we are all quite close and I think its a great part of New Jersey!!!

Keansburg
One thing I do hate about this town, is the bugs are horrible!!! Ugh! Awful! I never got attacked by so many mosquitoes and I think gnat looking bugs.
Anyway I also just met a nice girl who moved to Union Beach, she loves it there. She is a corporate lawyer from down south. She also never has been to Keansburg, and I can't wait to show her around! Of course I think Keansburg is better than Union Beach, but Union Beach has its own positives as well. Again for anyone taking offense I love the whole bayshore. I feel sad when outsiders come in and admire and love the town of Keansburg, but unfortunately if they bump into a doom and gloomy local from a surrounding town they get smothered with negative thoughts. Perhaps it was a bad town at one time... I dont know for I've been here 17 months, but looking around from Keyport to Sandy Hook they all seem to show there own good and bad as well. I was on the Keansburg Beach today and it made me feel good overhearing one young family with kids talking and saying how clean the beach was and that they never seen it so clean here before. By the way I have cousins that live in Union Beach and Keyport, so come on this is the bayshore we should all be proud! Most locals in other bayshore towns are great wonderful people!!! but for the doom and gloom riff raffs found in other bayshore towns who love to curse and have no education, please stay out of Keansburg!

Keansburg
Tina, I think you gave your kids a very great childhood memory of taking them to a beach/boardwalk/amusment area. Even in my 30's, I cherish all my childhood memories of those. Yes of course I love the boardwalk of Point Pleasant and Seaside and I agree for a young family, with a budget, a young child doesn't care as long as they are having fun for thats what matters. I took kids to the amusement/water park at Keansburg last year and they all loved it and thats priceless. I think the beach and amusement area is looking a lot better than what I remember the place as like 5 and 10 years ago. It seems Keansburg went through a rough point at one time, maybe in the 80's? I'm guessing. All I know is today, I see the positives in this town of Keansburg and it makes me happy!

Keansburg
I just want to let everyone know... the doom and gloom locals from other bayshore towns. Again, anyone who presently lives in Keansburg will not put the town down! I just talked to a business owner who owns a deli on main street. He told me its a very safe town and he never had any problems. He has been here for 12 years. I told him there are some people that put this town down. He said nope never any problems. He is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Then he told me his family also owns a deli in Marlboro and that store of his had problems. Kids have tried to steal in his Marlboro store, and I say to myself... hmm, rich kids stealing... ironic, expensive homes, hmm, but isnt that truth. Its not how much wealth you have, its how your kids are raised. Again, Anyone who is thinking of moving to Keansburg, talk to locals that live in town, business owners and neighbors and you will find your answers! Also I went out dancing tonite and amazingly some girls walked home down main street and Carr Avenue. Keansburg a dangerous town and full of crime??? You gotta be kidding, anyone that says that need to go to a mental institution! I was outside enjoying a nice nite on Carr Avenue. I just can't understand why a few doom and gloom locals of other bayshore towns love to put this town down! Unbelievable! Maybe pride? or this town was very bad at one time? I dont know, but one thing now this town is very safe, very friendly, and I think a great place to raise a family! One thing I will admit, there is some riff raff here, but I see it all along the bayshore.

I agree, there are a lot of nice places down in brick. I love it by the water, unfortunately it was too far from my job/work in north jersey.

Keansburg
I was at the beach today in Keansburg and two girls next to me were talking playing ball on the beach. I heard them talking saying they never seen so many people on the beach here before. This is about 430pm on a sunday evening. Young families all over the place and the parking was so full. A great sign that Keansburg is continually improving! The beach was very clean too. The best beach on the bayshore

Cheap houses in Middletown

There are some parts that aren't too bad...they call it N. Middletown and I have a few friends that live there. As far as your price range, I don't know what you would find for that price but I will say I was looking less than a year ago for another house in the area, say from Cliffwood to Highlands and every town in between and there were no houses even close to that. The houses I was looking at were around 325,000 to 350,000 and they were all shacks with taxes of 6,000 and up a year. Houses around here have gone down a little in the last six months but not that much. Keansburg is definatley the least expensive town in the area but there are many reasons why.

Yes, you can buy houses real cheap in Middletown. There are several houses selling for under $160,000 in Middletown as of August 5, 2007. But if you want to get more value, more quality of life, lower taxes, a safe neighborhood, I suggest looking in Keansburg instead!

Try Middletown, Matawan, Hazlet. Though finding 160,000 houses will be harder.

As of August 5, 2007, there are several houses in Middletown and Union Beach selling for under $160g. Hazlet known as trailer city in the bayshore has trailer homes as cheap as 25g and homes selling under 175g. The highlands also has trailer homes under 50g. Aberdeen and Old Bridge have homes under 199g. Plenty of cheap houses in Middletown for under 200g. I suggest looking in Keansburg, more value for the same money. Plus you will not find houses in Keansburg as cheap as Hazlet or Highlands. There are no trailer park houses in Keansburg.
