Default Newark, nj

Two days in a row the media has focused on tragedies in this city, with lots of killings, five drive-by shootings, police chases, car accidents, etc. It seems this city is out -of- control. Maybe they need to call in the military.

Newark is a lot safer since Sharp James. It's all about the media reporting out of control.

Maybe the police cars should have some new features like a cannon on top like an army tank so they won't have to chase people in cars, they can simply aim and fire. I bet that would make people think twice. And the cops should have to go through tough martial arts training, many of them are fat or puny. Learn from that movie Training Day

but realistically I think the most people can do is sympathize and educate youth, encourage them they can become something. I know a kid he just turned 18 I picture him locked up or dead in a few years.

To many people have mental handicaps, he's as smart as they come but crazy also, gives the best advise on girls, knows how to make anyone smile, but he's crazy. As smart as many people are, I could never ever picture them earning a degree in college. That's another thing. In today's world you practically need education to get a career, if you don't have that u better be a lucky person, know how to work around the system because otherwise u will eventually drown.

Murders have actually gone down, I believe there are 30 less then last year for this time last year. When Sharpe James was mayor it was more out of control but it seems that the news is reporting many more crimes since Booker became mayor. When James was mayor most crimes never were in the news. Newark's neighbor Irvington is the one that is really out of control. Irvington is either the new murder capitol by now or is real close.

What we could do is stop all this suburban sprawl and start developing Newark

Plenty of good infrastructure, public transportation

Leave the Meadowlands alone, and build in Newark

I totally agree. Plus Montclair and all other similar towns should have there fair share of the poor. I think that is the main problem. Too many poor living together.

Well, that may come true. Obama says "SHARE THE WEALTH." He is planning not only to tax the rich, but everyone else in this way, in order to give to the poor..................
