Default Commute between Pennington and Princeton

This week I started working just south of Pennington and commuting from Princeton. Last night I took the 206 north to return to Princeton and traffic was at a standstill. Is that normal for the evening commute into Princeton (it was election night after all)? If so any recommended alternative routes?

Would taking Cherry Valley Road to Pennington-Rocky Hill road be any help? Where in Princeton are you starting from?

206 is always bad because the trucks use it to avoid the Turnpike tolls.

206 is pretty much a pain during the rush hours.
You could try taking Elm Ridge Rd to Carter Rd to Rosedale and into Princeton that way.
Or Washington Crossing Rd (Blackwell Rd) to Cold Soil Rd (through Lawrence Township) to Rosedale.
Depends on where you are in Pennington.
Good Luck!

Yes, it depends on where you are in Pennington and where you are in Princeton. But 206 is pretty much a nightmare most of the time, even on weekends sometimes.
