I think they've been going over to Ponzi's,it's pretty much the same.

All I know is I hate those stupid circles and hope they do away with them! They serve no purpose other than to pit drivers against each other! Why does NJ still have them? Most other states don't.

KOP is a major destination for PA shoppers with lots of people coming and going. The roads in PA are generally in poor condition and/or poorly designed. Rt 202 in PA is a horrible road. It compounds the problem.

Circles work fine. Pansy drivers are what ruin them.

Actually-states are now adding them back in and calling them Roundabouts. They are doing it up here and in Florida-by my dad. They are the biggest joke and only cause trouble. My husband and I know how to navigate a circle but most people up here do not. They never had to until these roundabouts came along in the past few years.

The state capitol of Concord has added them and many want them added because they are "European" and "progressive". I am not kidding-these are actual comments from proponents of these things up here. They decorate them up fancy with stone and other things. One of them-the snow plow has totally ripped apart. It is just plain sad.

We have one in the town next to us and they designed it without taking the snow plow into mind. We got over 140 inches of snow last year-so you can imagine how fun that was. It is never properly plowed-due to it's design. It backs up traffic a lot in the summer as well. All along, the politicians said it would eleviate traffic.

I am really scared to see this one that they are building by my dad in Florida. There are 80 and 90 year old drivers down there that already should not be on the road and will now be expected to navigate these ridiculous roundabouts. There will be numerous accidents and it will only make things worse.

Barry Goldwater once said back in 1963 that New England should be sawed off North America, and let it drift over the Atlantic back to the 'mother land'. I wonder if sentiment the likes you've stated here is an example of his rationale.

KOP also draws huge crowds from other states, especially NJ. Take a drive around the lot and check out the license plates. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, it is frequented by out-of-staters significantly more than nearby Valley Forge National Park.

There's little wrong with 202, actually. There's just tons of traffic coming out of the mall. Add this to the 10+ million square feet of office space in the area, and Routes 76, 276, and 422, which intersect in KOP, and you have a mess.

One thing I think is nice about CH when compared to KOP is that CH's housing stock is generally much newer and nicer. Sorry to sound like a snob but most of KOP's housing stock should be leveled and rebuilt. CH does not seem to have this problem.

A few things:

A traffic circle and a roundabout are not the same thing. A traffic circle is huge and is meant to be traversed at near highway speeds. Roundabouts are maybe 30ft. in diameter and are meant to be traversed at 10-15mph. Roundabouts are there to slow people down. Traffic circles were meant to keep people moving - instead of having to stop at a traffic light. When they were installed in the 1930s the population of NJ was 1/4 of what it is today. They're functionally obsolete because they're handling 10x the volume of traffic that they were designed for.

Traffic in and around Cherry Hill is a mess because everyone drives everywhere and because there are very few alternate routes/back roads. Everyone empties out on to the same arterials which in turn empty out on to the same highways. You also have regional shopping with massive parking lots which pull in even more people.

The best way to get even more traffic and to encourage even more people to move out to Medford would be to widen Route 70. If you build it, they come, they build more sprawling subdivisions, and they drive further and further to get there. If you've ever been to LA or New York it's quite clear that building more roads and widening highways does nothing to alleviate traffic congestion.

I don't know what to make of the "people from Camden and Pennsauken" comment but Cherry Hill isn't any different today than it was 40 years ago. In fact, incomes are higher and home values are higher - even adjusted for inflation. As long as they keep the schools in good shape the town won't fail. I can't think of any other large metro where you can live in a suburban town with top notch schools and be a 10 minute drive from the center of a big city.
