Best town to live close to west orange.
Hi to everyone! Before anything thank you for taking your time to read this post. We are planning to move to NJ next spring because of a job offer. We will be working in West orange. We would appreciate if you could suggest us different towns in where to look for a house. Thanks again!

First we want to rent a house, we don't have children at the moment but hopefully we will. We would like to be maximum an hour from NYC and because the rental is paid by the company I guess we can ask for something nice.

well, you can look right in West Orange! I know there are 1 or 2 areas that are less desirable than others, but not in a "Camden" sort of way - other posters can tell you which they are. But otherwise, if the company is paying, might as well work close by!

The eastern side of WO is known as the undesirable (I consider my personal drawing line [when if comes to walking] as for my own personal safety [being a young, single, female] the east of Prospect Ave). St. Cloud section is very nice, Llewellyn Park (though pricey), Gregory Section (which is past Prospect, but it's a well known area, and I know a couple people that live there). Most of western WO is nice. I love the town.

Since you don't have children yet, you might also like to explore Maplewood and South Orange. They both have nicer down town areas than West Orange.
