This weekend we saw a few houses in Hillsborough and we were surprised how nice and relatively affordable they were - almost 20% below Bridgewater houses. I understand Hillsborough is a nice town but this is just the beginning of Hillsborough (bordering Somerville and Manville) - hardly a mile from 202-206 circle. Any one knows how good the neighborhood is (Campbell Rd & Nostrand Rd off Dukes Pkwy)?

NO part of hillsborough is a bad part to live in. This town is super quiet and safe. THe schools are very good there. The township has a lot of money as well. Although near 206 the traffic can be pretty heinous, i would say that is the WORST of your problems over there. Not bad at all.....although, I'm not sure if its prone to flooding? Not too sure about that.

If it's affordable, then go for it. Top notch education in that town. Not to mention living near the scenic Dukes Parkway is nice too!

thanks JWhiskey!

i was just confused how come Hillsborough is about 20% cheaper than Bridgewater - when it is hardly 3 miles away! is hillsborough considerably inexpensive or is it just this community where i'm looking...

Check the taxes!!! I think Bridgewater taxes are lower than Hillsborough. Also, check for flood zone. Some of the areas just below Dukes Parkway are flood areas.

If the taxes are acceptable and you aren't in a flood zone, go for it! It is definitely a nice area. People don't really think of that area as part of Hillsborough - maybe because it's so close to Manville? Homes are a little bit older too. Manville is a decent place so no problems there. It's still fairly blue collar and the incomes are generally quite a bit less than Hillsborough but it's not a problem area.
