Smile Looking for a house in nj, help!!

Hi,

I am looking for a home in NJ that is not older than 5 years old and has a great school district, and in the price of 1.5-2.5
We do not like most of the houses that we have found which are old colonial.

These are the style homes that we are interested in:

We are also open to contemporary homes. Although older homes may be contemporary (1980s) we are looking newer homes.

Only one problem- a house of that style, size, and level of finish/amenities will cost you closer to $5million+ in NJ.

The homes you are looking for can easily be found in NJ in the stated price range. More info would be needed to narrow things down, especially re location and schools. NJ is a big state, and "Good Schools" is a very subjective term. I happen to know that the schools here in the northern Somerset County area are, by just about every rating system I have seen, considered Good, so I ran a quick search for you. A few towns in the area, houses priced between 1.5 and 2.5 million, with at least 4 bedrooms, 4 full baths, 3 car garage, and a basement, built in 2004 or later. I found over 40 that meet those criteria, and selected a few of them. Here they are.

The homes in this price range are highly negotiable and sitting for a long time, sometimes a year or even two. What was once a $3 million property can now probably be had for $2 million in many towns, though not all.

I sent you a DM of a listing in Holmdel, NJ that might fit your specifications, but don't know if I sent it properly. If you need more info,
let me know. I am not a realtor, but have been watching the market closely for some time since our house will be going on the market very soon. (It does not meet your criteria).

I suggest looking in the money center towns where you'll find a large supply of $1 million+ properties, you'll find top schools as well. Then just pick the area you like best. To that end, check out Moorestown in South Jersey which Money ranked best place to live in 2005. You'll find 45-50 million dollar+ homes for sale. The town has a large supply of georgous victorians and traditonal mansions. This one below even has a contemporary flare.

Gosh, you're going about this all backwards. You're supposed to pick your towns first and then pick a house....
