My Red Cross example was used because you made it a big deal that only ONE child out a group had an idea; but based on your posts it's obvious that you seem to think your opinions are the only ones that matter so I'll leave you to that.
Its not that my opinions are the only ones who count its that you seem to base your examples on the exception in situations rather than more the rule of whats to be found....its nice to find the occasional child thats an exception and excells but its unrealistic to base decisions and expectations on what one accomplishes and disregard the norm ? Because children are "people" like adults it doesn't automatically qualify them to participate in all the activities that an adult choses to do. I'm sorry but my common sense screams to me that there is far more to be lost than gained in experimenting on whether any harm may be experienced by exposing a 7 year old to the atmosphere of a soup kitchen. Your child has already expressed concern about being around "bad men".....are you going to force it down their throat to justify your opinion ?
ok, folks, the fat lady has sung, hell is frozen, pigs are flying and that dead horse is still dead. Live and let live, the point is pointless now, leave it alone.
