Lemme tell ya folks. I hate to shop. Wait.... I absolutely, positively hate to shop.

Because of this, I ended up today doing a lot of shopping that I have been putting off.

I was in loads of stores today. TJ Maxx, Michael's, Dollar Tree, Barnes and Noble, Rite-Aid, Pier 1, Aldi's and Pathmark. It was INSANE everywhere. I swear, it seemed like the day after Thanksgiving. I stood in line after line just trying to pay.

Oh, did I mention...I hate to shop.

Shanny

I have to admit...it's the DEALS. I went and did a lot of my Holiday Shopping last night and I really was stressing today. I'm doing the bills and hyperventalating. DH is like "Did you stay in budget?" YES! "Then stop worrying..." but it's just not the old days for sure. So I went through my list and cut it down...some of the peripheral people are OFF. And I made my kid cut 5 people from the birthday invite list! LOL! Hey, don't feel bad, I'm the big 40 early next year and DH already said "You know we're not making a big thing of it, right?" LOL

I was at Kohls yesterday. I don't shop there much. Lots of the kids clothes were marked down 40-50% but truthfully I still didn't think they were great bargains. The regular price was too high to make me feel like the 50% was a bargain. I would have done better at the outlets. I bought a few things and was surprised that the checkout line was empty on a Saturday afternoon. I guess I shopped at the wrong store.

I should have gone to Kohl's then. The worst part of shopping is standing in a never-ending line trying to pay.

Grocery stores are usually busy on Sundays. But, I went to Target today, and they were pretty busy compared to usual.

I don't know what it is here in PA, but the mall was packed both Saturday and Sunday, never have I seen the parking lot so full. Went to Sams Club and Walmart and they were packed. Decided to take the family out to eat at Chili's and they were slammed with folks. Half hour wait and those poor wait staff were running the entire time we were there. We are in a poorer area of Western PA and I can't figure it out. I say give the average 18 year old consumer a substantial sum of money, say at least $10,000, tell him it has to be spent on consumer goods, i.e. autos, clothes, appliances, home remodel, etc. That you will require proof on the following years tax forms, that should take care of the economic crisis.
