Default Considering JOB in CHERRY HILL

Hey Guys

I Currently live in Wilmington DE. I am considering a job in Cherry Hill where I will live in Wilmington in the beginning, then move to Philadelphia maybe 6 months later.

I'm not a big Jersey guy, and I'm concerned as to how long it takes to get from Wilmington to Cherry Hill, and then Philly to Cherry Hill.

So,

1. How long from Wilm-Cherry Hill with traffic on a weekday
2. How long from Phila-Cherry Hill with traffic on a weekday
3. How much will tolls cost me?
4. I heard the tolls are going up for DRBA.. what will it cost me afterward?

Thanks!

2. -> Depends where in Philly. But assuming Center City area I would guess 15-20 minutes. Also depends where in Cherry Hill. No more than 30 minutes though. You will be goign against traffic for most part.

3./4. $4 for Walt Whitman & $4 for Ben Franklin now. $5 come 9/2010. Then every 2 years based on inflation the tolls will rise.

One option to consider is Collingswood/Westmont area. You get a small town feel and close to speedline for access to city easily. Also a 5-10 minute commute to Cherry Hill. Nice middle point in general. But is subarbian compared to living in city. So if you want younger/CITY lifestyle then Philly is the only game in the area.

Natas got it.

For Wilmington to Cherry Hill - it really depends on where in Wilm. to where in CH but if you were leaving downtown Wilm. and took 295 the whole way up and you were working near exit 34 (Route 70) My educated guess would be about an hour.

If I were you I would suck it up and pay the toll for the Turnpike. Most of the delay you experience is going to be on 295 near where it crosses 42. The Turnpike bypasses all that. Only problem is that the exits are a lot further apart so you'll have to backtrack. It might save you 10 minutes each way. The other option is to take 95 up to the Walt Whitman. Not sure if that's a time savings for you, though.

You'll just have to try them all out. It'll probably really depend too on what time of the morning you're going.

Although I live in Cherry Hill, I also work in Cherry Hill so my commute is about 7-8 minutes.

Where in Cherry Hill would you be working Joe?

I'd budget an hour for Wilmington to Cherry Hill but it could be less depending on how close to the highway your job is. I agree with solibs about taking the NJTPK instead of 295. You will save at least 10-15min each day.
