planning on being a NJ noob
so I'm jumping the fly-over country and moving to NJ (org from Oregon). I just got a job in Vienna and need to know what I'm getting myself into. I am in my early twenties and this is my first time out of a college setting. I have been to NYC, but that is the only place I have been on the east coast. I would love love to hear your advice for someone new to the area. What's near Vienna...

Vienna, NJ is in Warren County and a "noob" means a newbie or new resident in this case.

Vienna is part of Independence Township near Hackettstown. This is totally my neck of the woods. It's a very rural area, you have to drive to everything. There is really nothing to speak of in Vienna proper. What kind of work is in Vienna?
Being young, you will like Hackettstown. It's a college town, home to Centenary College. There's a couple area bars for hanging out. Major shopping is not too far away in Mansfield and Mount Olive for places like Target, WalMart, Chili's, Bed Bath and Beyond etc.
Let me know what other specific questions you have and I'd be glad to answer them.

A noob is someone who doesn't know what a noob is. Clearly, mgverity is a l33t brother. Welcome to the forum!
Personally, I don't think anyone in their 20's will like H'town. It may have a few bars but so what? You gotta be in Hoboken. More bars, hotter girls. But a long and painful drive to Vienna. New Brunswick might work too, but same problem - bad commute.

Wow, a defensive bunch this morning. Sorry for scaring you!
A friend of mine in college used to complain that he had all these friends from New Jersey, and he would ask one, "Hey, my really good friend Sally lives in Madison. Is that near where you live?" And the other New Jersey person would always say, "Never heard of it."
