Everything people hate about NJ is what I love about it, it's real (maybe too real sometimes), it has character. Can't say that about a lot of places, especially Orange County, CA, (no offense to you Hgal). I've been to Cali many times, it sure is beautiful, but I still love the Northeast, and NJ.

When I explained that NJ is in fact quite nice, and asked her if she was aware that NJ is also the country's wealthiest state, she said "I don't believe it. Oregon is much more ritzy than NJ".
People live in NJ.........to get away from people like you. rim shot

Unfortunately as nice as that video is, more people have had their image of the state framed by the opening credits of "The Sopranos".

Unknown Memory will become famous soon enoughUnknown Memory will become famous soon enough
Oooh. There's too many... *flexes fingers* Sorry, if some of these stuff have been mentioned before. I just love to get them off my hands.

- A really dense populated state with very little room to move.
- No suburban type houses/space. Just the ones you'd find in Newark.
- New Jersey is just made up of highways and more highways! That must mean we have no trees!
- Which leads to the Turnpike joke. It seems to be ingrained in everyone as soon as they know how to read. Even some Australians would know of the joke. -_- Now these days, I just shrug it off.
- You're from Jersey so you must speak the Jorsey accent! .....
- Rude people.
- Bad drivers.
- Rat race.
- Paul Blart: Mall Cop is a film reminder that the state has a lot of malls. Directed and produced by New Yorkers so of course... (Although, I wish they kept the actual film location as the setting for the movie.)

Well when I moved out here on a whim, my family, especially my dad, FLIPPED out! Not until recently have they all either accepted or pretended to accept that I live in NJ. I do get homesick though..and there is NO PLACE in NJ that compares to Laguna Beach, Fashion Island in Newport Beach, and my lovely hometown Yorba Linda (yes the area that had the fires few months back). Anyway, I have been here almost 2 1/2 years now and I am still getting used to the "jug" handles, the indian population (insane) and peoples attitudes. Like why are people so hesitant to be cordial and say God bless you if you sneeze in the store. I said it to someone and she just looked at me. Not even thanked me. I was like Ok whatever.. I am used to hanging out @ Starbucks on the weekends or after work, sipping a latte in the warm sunnshine.. havent been able to do that here. There is an alarming shortage of cute Starbucks here. D & D everywhere... Ok maybe I may sound like I am bashing NJ, I am really not. It's just that I also want to understand why people who do not live in NJ hate it so much. One great thing is there are a ton of outdoor adventures to be had, pretty rivers and lakes. And driving to upstate NY is a great roadtrip...and then Canada is like right there, which is cool to venture to too. So NJ does get a bad wrap...and people just need to be open and not jump on the band wagon of anti NJians. Yes I was miserably homesick when I first moved here...but its not so bad now. It's not beautiful Orange County Ca, but its really not as bad as people think. Although where did ALL of these indian people come from and why are there SO many? The majority of have an inaccurate superiority complex, are very rude, and smell like bad! Ewww. But then I have net some pretty cool ones too... But I was just wondering...woW! So many of'em!
1) If I am not mistaken, Indian-born people constitute the fourth largest immigrant group in the US each year (1. mexico, 2. phillipines, 3. china, 4.india)

2) It makes sense for recent immigrants to move to the same areas that their friends/family live in. Then, many people tend to stay in the area they were born, so the Indian community in NJ is exhibiting normal behavior for immigrant groups.

3) There are many areas of NJ that do not have a strong Indian-American community. You probably live in one of the areas that does. So...Hudson county or Edison-area?

4) You are sort of a racist.
