Default Asian American Moving to Jersey Final post

I finally decided that Jersey is not for me. The thing that
changed my mind was the safety of my kid and wife.

JERSEY IS ONE BIG TOXIC WASTE DUMP

I saw the edison wetland video in youtube
I found out there are 100 EPA superfund sites in Jersey.
Actually the whole state is covered with contaminated sites.
Yes, these sites are all over the country; however, they are not
leaking chemicals into the delaware river like edison, wetlands.

I got an excel spreadsheet of all the contaminated property
in Jersey and there were 100's for each city.. 100s..

Schools are built on contaminated sites!
Radium decays and releases Radon which causes lung cancer.

IS ALL THIS TRUE?

Well I know it is, but how the hell do you people live in jersey?

And to top it all off there are 1/100 cases of Autism in Jersey?
Is there a toxic trace connection here?

I just told my wife, "I have to draw the line when it comes to the
safety of our family so we are avoiding NJ and NY".

No hard feelings please.

.....lol.....

Did you at least learn your lesson about moving somewhere without a job?

Doubtful. I'm sure you will find some other dumpy place to park yourself when you find another useful pastime other than wasting time on city-data.

Umm... Didn't know I'm living on top of toxic waste for so long

Oh well.

Seriously, can you qualify your comment "leaking chemical in Delaware river"? And what does Delaware river has to do with Edison?

Never heard of radium decay. Do you have any sane & reliable sources to prove that?

Radon gas is not due to industrialization or chemical waste. It is all over the place, like in Massachusetts. Please check EPA site for Radon map of US and what causes Radon gas.

Well, one less car put on Jersey roads. I can sleep easier at night.

If New Jersey's so bad, why does everyone live here?

Wetlands =/= NJ

NJ has only a few cities (which most people will stay away from in terms of living). The rest are towns, suburbs, island towns, shore towns, rural towns, pinelands, forests, mountains and farms.

Contanimated school sites? O.o When most of the schools in NJ are top notch?? And heck.. Can you think of Princeton Uni built on a contaminated property? Gee.. Maybe, contamination = ivy league? (The only school contaminated story I can think of was in one of my town's junior high where grass fertilizer contaminated the grass....)

Lung cancer by radium? Wha? O.o .... Oy oy oy oy oy... *shakes head* (What about cigarettes, eh..? EH!?)

I don't expect a non-native NJ resident (regardless of what race/ethnicity you are) to not understand any of us. So, to answer you... NOT HOW I SEE IT... >D

And why? You got 4 seasons. You got a big diversity in population here. You have farmlands to the south. Beaches to the east. Two major cities to the north and the west. High dense population and low dense population in one land mass. You don't see the same-ol-same-ol like in some other states. You don't get the LA smog at all in NYC (so clean air, haaaa).

The "cities" in NJ should not be used to judge the entire state.
