Rahway
I have two questions I was hoping some experts could help me on:
My girlfriend and I are looking to move to Downtown Rahway. We visited the area and really liked it. I had a question about traffic. I'll just be taking the turnpike south, but she will be commuting to Downtown New Brunswick (google suggest taking Rte 27, but she could also take Rte 1 or the turnpike). How bad is traffic on 27 during rush hour? I know Rte 1 and the turnpike at 18 are horrible... I was wondering if 27 was just as bad?
Also, we've kind of hit a roadblock as far as apartment searching. Can anyone recommend any good agents/brokers for rentals in Rahway? We're not in an urgent rush to move, so we can wait for the right apartment, but the sooner the better.
Thanks!

27 isn't really a viable option, IMO- too many lights, and all it takes is one little fender-bender and the whole road is shut down. I'd think Rt 1 or the Turnpike would be much better solutions.

Id rather see you take some side streets (Lawrence to Roosevelt) through Rahway into Carteret and get on the TP at exit 12. Stay off Rt 1 all together.

This place is one of the new apartment buildings in downtown Rahway, and supposedly it should be finished soon and open for rentals.

We saw a couple of places in Rahway.. ofcourse our main criterion was proximity to the train station so did not check anything that was not walking distance from the Rahway train station..
- Riverplace at Rahway..(we liked this one best)
- skyview plaza (this is right opposite the train station, but the first couple of floors are the Indigo Hotel)
- Parksquare Plaza (this is still under construction, though they say that they plan to get it in move-in condition by June, so if you are not in a hurry, you can check this one too)
hope this helps..
