The Town Ordinance is ILLEGAL.

Only the State can regulate cars. This was proven after people complain about the cell phone ban in certain towns a few years back.

It IS a town ordinance and you must have been passing through Green Brook. Strange, huh? It's true though. I wonder if they ever figured out if gum was food and considered eating. Believe it or not, that was a big question when they first came out with the ordinance.

Yet another SIGN that our politicians have nothing better to do than to come up w/ bogus/stupid laws instead of actually doing some good work for their people.

Isn't that the truth. You can't even go through a drive thru in Green Brook and pull over in the parking lot to eat in your car. That's against the law there.

Doesn't surprise me. Green Brook has always been bad.

Hmm, wonder if donuts count...

Just went to Green Brook's web site - nothing about it.
Went to the PD page - nothing.
Went to the PD new laws page (http://www.greenbrookpd.org/GBPD/new_laws1.htm - broken link) - nothing.

Did a google news search, nothing.

I'm surprised you found nothing. It was a HUGE deal when they passed it and was everywhere all over the newspapers and news stations.

Funny, I didn't find it either when I just googled.

But it DID happen and the law DOES exist and there are signs on the road and in the parking lots of the food joints in Green Brook.

CT has a similar law.

One of my professors from a few semesters back always made fun of it. Except, the passenger(s) can eat, the driver cannot.
