Default Restauran up the mountain near Watchung?

Does anyone know of a restaurant that is up the mountain near Watchung? I know that it's on the southbound side and I believe it's the last right before the Blue Star Shopping Center. It's straight ahead before you turn to go to Berkeley Heights.

My brother is getting married and looking for a restaurant. I remember going there with another one of my friends but have searched on-line and found nothing!

Is it still open? Any comments about it, if you've eaten there? I think it was .... Chateau?

Thanks!

Thanks but that's not the one. You don't actually go on the overpass. When you turn (southbound) to the right you go right up the mountain- it goes up. It's up in the mountain. And it's not the country line dancing place. It's actually a formal place- I think it has a greenhouse type of room, unattached area where the cocktails are held. If I remember, it has some greenery in between the restaurant and the greenhouse type of area.

edit - sorry you said it wasn't the country dancing place

Is it Chanticler Chateau?

FWIW rt 22 is west & east.
Going west from Westfield, the 1st exit at Blue star is North, not South. South is going into Scotch Plains

How long ago was it that you were there? I wonder if it was the Colorado Cafe before they changed hands. It's been owned by many people since we've been in the area.

No, but thanks again.

It's alot more formal than the Colorado Cafe. It's a Wedding Hall in that area.

Colorado Cafe looks like alot of fun though.

I think that's the one. I remember it had a 'fancy' name- ahah.

Wow, what a difference now. Nothing like what it was before.

Anyone been there for a wedding?
Dinner?

I was editing while you were posting. I also found the

Check out the google map link I left for Colorado Cafe, that should help you figure out where it is.

With the Chaticler, it was a right on Somerset Street, the exit that had the Shell station. From there you went up the road, past what is now the police station, then the Delta (our place) to the circle. You go 1/2 of the way around then get off on Sterling road. This will put the lake on your left.

If you went 3/4 of the way around the circle, there are other restaurants on Mountain Boulevard.

Twin Brooks Country Club

Google Map Somerset Street Watchung.

Thanks, it was definitely the restaurant that is now The Stonehouse.

The Colorado Cafe I have seen driving through that area and that's another restaurant.

I wonder now if anyone has been there.

Thanks for all your help.
