Hey Sofie,

Where in the Southwest do you currently live? We may be neighbors!

Hey Sofie, You've been here 2 days and you're fitting in so don't be afraid to keep going. I was going to say we don't bite but I have a vampire's license.

I've always found North Arlington an interesting town (small though it may be).
Good transportation to NYC, yet very much in the sphere of Newark. A mix of old school Italians & new Hispanics.
Quintessential suburbia right in between Jersey City & Newark.
You should give it a look.

Hello Mike0421. Well I live in a really big state. Wide open spaces. Takes forever to drive to get anywhere, unlike NJ. Y'all come on down. :-D But I won't say a peep more. ;-) Thanks for saying "hi." :-)

Hi openheads. Towns like Rutherford, Lyndhurst, Nutley have easy access to transportation into the city and a comfortable feel to me. It's just the area where my NJ friends happen to live, and it's become a kind of second home for me given how often I travel to NJ/NY. Nutley has some old school Italians left... you'll see them at the diner hehe. But I've found the towns to be friendly and for the most part open to outsiders like myself and minorities. They are also not "too urban" but I'm not afraid to hang out in Jersey City so long as I have my wits about me and a big friend tagging along. ;-) Just don't listen to the police scanner too much hehe. I actually get reception of Jersey City Medical Center on my scanner where I presently live... it's amazing! I know where not to venture. Take care. :-)

Welcome to the board Sofie....we'll have to do afternoon tea & sconces (((GAG))) LOL Anyhow, don't be afraid of the CD looneys, we're harmless, defenseless, never hurt a fly type of people (I don't care what you may have read about Newark, Jersey City, East Orange or Camden).

I live in the 5th largest state, it's bordered by the second largest state. I'm already here! So maybe I'll just drive on over!

Hmmmmmm, I lived in Newark and Jersey City, worked in Newark and hung out in the Oranges. Is that why I'm the way I am?
