Belhaven, NC was the place I had in mind. Farms, salt marshes, rivers, bay . . . even the accents aren't that far off.

I live in S Jersey, Burlington County, and have spent time in everything from Cape May County to that row of M's north of me. I've been to the lower Delaware Water Gap a couple of times. I used to visit my brother when he lived outside of Morristown. I've been through Hunterdon and Somerset. That leaves six counties that I've never even seen.

Feeling lazy I'll put it this way:
Three counties I have not been in when there in NJ are:
Hunterdon
Gloucester
Salem
But that's not bad for a non-Jerseyan.
I do love travelling the state.

I live in Essex, and have spent substantial amounts of time(at least a few days worth) in Passaic, Bergen, Sussex, Warren, Hudson, Morris, Union, Middlsex, Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, and Cape May
Have been to Somerset, Hunterdon, and Camden
Have really just driven through Burlington, Gloucester, Salem, and Cumberland, so I can’t really say I’ve “been” there
I’m all over Essex, Passaic, and Morris. The others are more limited:
Bergen – Mostly in East Rutherford, Edgewater, and Paramus
Sussex – Mostly in Wantage (have family there) and Newton
Warren – Mostly in Phillipsburg
Hudson – Mostly in Weehawken, Secaucus, Hoboken, and Jersey City
Union – Mostly in Cranford, Summit, Westfield, Scotch Plains, and Elizabeth
Middlesex – Mostly in Edison and New Brunswick
Mercer – Mostly in Princeton and Hamilton
Monmouth – Mostly in Asbury Park, Belmar, Colts Neck, Red Bank, Marlboro, and Long Branch
Ocean – Mostly in Brick, Point Pleasant, Seaside Heights, Toms River, and Lavallette
Atlantic – Mostly in Atlantic City
Cape May – Mostly in Cape May, Ocean City, and Wildwood
I’d like to see more of Salem (hardly spent any time there and my curiosity is peaked), Sussex, and Ocean (my two favorite counties, haven’t been to all the towns)
My county is hard to describe. My town was ranked the 3rd best place to live in NJ and Essex Fells is one of the hundred richest towns in the U.S., but then we have Irvington, as an example, which is one of the most violent towns in the country (has more crime per capita than Camden – Only reason it wasn’t ranked in the most dangerous cities list is that is doesn’t qualify population-wise as a city)
