Are there any towns where residents that really get into decorating their homes for the holidays? I'd like to drive around and check some out.

Looking mostly for Northern NJ area

Tends to be block by block in most towns.

Fort Lee, Cliffside Park, and Ridgefield - it's on a block by block basis as you'll find some blocks that are dead and some not.

There is a block or 2 on the Boonton township / Mountain Lakes border that is insane. They have hot chocolate many nights.....

I DO remember that in Mahwah - but I don't think it's there any more either.

UKOK do you know the address or street names in Mt Lakes, I'd like to check that out.

We were in Closter today for a party - let me tell you - DULLSVILLE up there when it comes to decorations! I find a lot of the wealthier areas put a wreath on the door and a few white lights and call it a day. Then we had to make a delivery in Little Ferry. There were tons of decorations out there, but there were too many houses with 10 different inflatables on the lawn. That is just gross. LOL

Some streets in Lyndhurst last night were really nice.

I have not seen a lot that has knocked my socks off this year (yet.)

I wouldn't dare put the picture up here on the forum, being someone's home, but some years ago there was a duplex there in Lyndhurst near my best friend's place that was awesome! :-O OMG the entire front of the house... both floors... and yard were lit up! We don't know the people. Yet they didn't do quite as much this year tho.

EEE - My friend in Lyndhurst whom I stay with often hates the cold, and I'm not used to it anymore living south, so we've been hibernating more or less. Didn't get out last nite... shameful LOL!

Maplewood has a Dickens village that is very cute. Fun to walk around look into the little houses, shop around the village, have lunch at the pub. Maybe you'll see tiny Tim.
