There's one up in Vernon (or around Vernon) also!!!!! The first movie I ever went to was Star Wars at the drive-in when I was 3 !!!
Dirty Water Dogs are the best (I don't think many other people know what they are though unless they're from Jersey LOL)
We definitely have a lot to be proud of...unfortunately, I admit knocking this state too, because I think we've become overcrowded and too many people have come to not only ruin what we had but obviously couldn't even appreciate what we have to offer in the first place. It's rather sad...but we've allowed it.

NJ is so awesome that we don't have to pump our own gas. Who wants to get out of their car when it's raining, or when it's 15F outside??

That drive in, is close to vernon. But not vernon, actually its not even NJ. It NY. Warwick NY off of route 94, which ends vernon at the state line.

Yes, J Brown, you are correct.
I distinctly remember going to Korvettes and hearing the announcement over the PA " Ladies, we have an unadvertised special in the lingerie department for the next 15 minutes only."
There would then be a mad rush.

The eight Korean war vets is a myth. I thought for years that it was true as well. EJ Korvettes was founded in 1948, 2 years before the Korean war. The real story is it was founded by Eugene Ferkauf (E) and his partner Joe Swillenburg (J). Eugene was a Jewish WW2 vet. The Korvette part was initially supposed to spelled with a C (Corvette) after a canadian marine sub destroyer. Supposedly at the time it was illegal to use a naval class identity for business purposes so they used the K instead. By the way my family shopped all the time at the Korvettes that was on 14th street and Union Square. Remember the membership cards? I guess it was sort of the WalMart of it's time!
