Heh - thanks. At least I'll have earned a right to complain about the government if I am actually living here, right?

I've posted this on the house forum already - but ...

Basically, the reason why we are getting such a good deal on the rent is because this townhouse has a very interesting... uhm... feature. The folks that we will be renting from just purchased the house, and they are doing a great job of doing some renovations on it... like pulling out -black- carpeting and replaced it with hardwood, replacing other carpetting with nice plush neutral colors... repainted the entire place... just really doing the right thing. However, there is one thing that they can't afford to redo right now, so we are going to have to live with it.

Basically, the previous owners thought it would be a -grand- idea to put in... mirrors. a LOT of mirrors... all over the house. The most egregious display of this however is in the powder room. Where they have put mirrors -everywhere-. The ceiling... the walls... behidn the door... basically a 360 degree mirror.

Seeing as we are not going to gut it (after all, it is not our place - we're just renting it), anyone have any creative ideas to cover it up so I don't have to blindfold myself before using the half bath?

Thank God - no mirrors on the bedroom ceiling.

My mom's travel agency is in Freehold. Odds are pretty good that I am going to be spending at least one day a week there helping her out. It's on Park Avenue. Empress Travel.

What happened with the Townhouse you were buying?

I wonder why the people went Mirror crazy. Who wants to look at themselves all day.
Maybe put a picture or a curtain over the one in the powder room?

Congrats!!! So the Jersey Girl is coming back home to NJ!

I guess that region of the state needs you as a Head Jersey Girl to keep the other Jersey Girls in line.

IMO: In these tough economic times maybe it's best to step back from buying and see what happens.

Our financing fell through - and we took it as a sign that perhaps now would not be the time to be buying. We're going to sit tight for a couple of years and continue to sock money away for a larger down payment.

A curtain is definitely an option.
