Not so. NJ has been losing seats in the House of Rep., & SC has been gaining seats. Please look on-line for photos of Greenville SC.
What?
New Jersey has gained in population, just not as fast as the South who is having a population explosion (similar to a population explosion NJ had many decades ago).
The North East in general is a "muture", established population center & has not gained by leaps & bounds for a long time.
Nice try though........................
I don't why people want the Northeast to grow like the south , why already have to many people and not enough Road and Rail to handle them. The Slower Growth rate will give us enough time to catch up...
Moving north, not south.... This is really all very much personal choice.
-Better access to good local ORGANIC food (we will buy half of our food from 5 miles away over the summer including organic milk)
-Weather is nicer IMO. When it's cold, you can actually do something fun. I own 1 pair of skis that I can go up hill, flat or downhill with. A pair of microspikes and a pair of snowshoes and I am set for the whole winter. In the summer I have mountains to climb. They are really hills, but mountains compared to NJ. Will be about 1 mile from the base of a 2600 ft climb to 4000 ft elevation.
-Less pollution, no traffic lights, no chain stores, no hussle/bussle really
-Local businesses and people who support local businesses
-in general people who have similar interests as myself

my husband and i were talking about this over the weekend - when we retire we thought about a place down the shore for the summer and a place in VT for the winter (he and my kids are big skier/snowboarders). it's certainly not the norm!
i would not mind that.. but VT is amazing in the summer also
That it is! DH and I will be there this August. Can't wait for our brewery and creamery tour.
