Taxes are so high because of the Oxford Central School renovation. A development called Spring Meadows caused overcrowding of the school, therefore it needed an addition and renovations. The taxes are ridiculous for Warren County.

When I bought my house in June of 2007, my realtor quoted me $4,400/yr. Shortly after moving in, I got my "reassessed" tax bill $5,800 plus $700 per year sewer tax. $6,500 per year now for a town with no services, located in the middle of nowhere. Oh and btw, a vote was just passed to repair the roof and other items at the school in 2009. This will cost each homeowner approximtely $100 per year in taxes.

Not all areas of Warren. I'm very happy with my property taxes at the moment. 6200/yr. And White Twp. has some of the lowest property taxes in NJ. Oxford is high for what they offer.. you need industry! I see they shot down the textile project in Oxford. This would have a made a huge difference for you and your taxes.

I think you misunderstood me or I mistyped T. I said and/or meant that Oxford taxes are ridiculous for Warren County, meaning they are high compared to other townships in WC. White is extremely low.

Go down Rt. 31, come to a traffic light make a left. Then make a right and then another right, this will put you back on 31. Another route, go down Rt. 31, come to a traffic light make a right. Make a left and then another left. This will put you back 31. Now you have seen Oxford.

Seriously, there is not much there. Certainly not businesses. You can check out Shippen Manor and the old Oxford Furnace though.

no I see that its not all of Warren County, warren county has great tax, so thats why I was wondering whats up with Oxford? I saw a house on mls for 549K and almost 12k tax. Thats really insane!!! I mean my Mother In Law has a house in Old Tappan for double the price and taxes are the same. So this was a mind blower!!
